Deployment is the process whereby Xoom applies configuration
changes to the managed system. Irrespective of which Xoom client tool you use,
deployment consists of the same steps.
- The specified XoomXML file is sent to Xoom server.
- Xoom server retrieves the matching parts of live configuration – that
is, the items that are logically equivalent and possess the same Xoom identities as
those in XoomXML.
- Xoom identifies the items that have been added or changed. Xoom ignores
environment-specific data (such as keys, stamp etc.), and compares only Xoom identities, body
and settings.
- Changes are deployed in two stages: Scheme changes are
deployed first, followed by Object changes.
Settings Migration Tool gives you interactive control over the deployment stages and the
items, and dependencies that are deployed.
