Configuration Versioning

Set up manual or automated configuration versioning.

  1. Prerequisites
    The following software needs to be installed in order to set up configuration versioning.
  2. Building blocks
    There are five building blocks: the repository; the working copy; the configuration file; the versioning script; and the Windows scheduled task.
  3. Configure Xoom in preparation for configuration versioning
    Configure the versioning script used by Xoom by modifying Store-ConfigInRCS.xml. The file is typically located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zany Ants\Xoom . There are three stages to configuring Store-ConfigInRCS.xml.
  4. Test the versioning script
    Be sure to check that the versioning script is running correctly before initiating automatic configuration versioning with Windows scheduler.
  5. Set up scheduled versioning
    Use Windows Scheduler to initiate automatic configuration versioning as follows.
