Deployment and configuration comparison with Settings Migration Tool

Deployment controls are found in the Deployment tab and are used for both deployment and configuration comparison.

Before deploying configuration, you must first specify, and establish a connection with, a Xoom server.

Specify the XoomXML file that you want to load into Settings Migration Tool.

Having specified a XoomXML file, load it into Settings Migration Tool where it will be compared with live configuration.

If Xoom identifies any Scheme changes, the Deploy scheme changes dialog opens. Rejecting a review of Scheme changes moves the process on to the next stage: analysis of Object changes in the XoomXML file.

Irrespective of whether you are reviewing Scheme or Object changes, Settings Migration Tool displays the results of the comparison in two panes, the Collections View and the Items View.

Select an item by selecting its check box.

Once you are happy with your selection of items you are ready to start the deployment.

A message box appears, reporting that the deployment was successfully completed.

If you previously deployed Scheme changes, reloading the file will allow you to inspect any Object changes. However, we recommend you always reload the [Xoom_XML]] file following deployment, as a way of verifying the deployment.
