Install Xoom

You must be a member of the Administrators group on your computer to install Xoom. The software prerequisites are as follows:

The installer is typically distributed as an archive.

The installer welcomes you to the Xoom Setup Wizard and gives you the option to cancel or continue.

The license screen only appears if Xoom hasn’t already been licensed on that particular computer.

For installation to continue, users must agree to the terms and conditions of the evaluation license.

Select a Xoom client or Xoom server installation.

If you elected to install Xoom server, the installer asks for Service Optimization login information.

The Installation wizard indicates that the prerequisites have been checked, the connection to Service Optimization was successful and that Xoom is now ready to be installed.

This screen indicates that the installation was successfully completed. Should there be any problems, they will be reported prior to this screen and the changes to the system will be rolled back.

In this screenshot, we see the list of events that we would expect to be logged in the Event Viewer following a successful Xoom server installation. Most of the events are from Windows Installer.

In the Services window, you can see the newly created Xoom service running.
