Xoom Explorer is designed for exploring configuration and generating reports. It can also be used for general purpose XML exploration and transformation.
As well as retrieving subsets of live configuration using named queries, Xoom Explorer also lets you load data from an XML file. If you want to generate reports, the file must be in XoomXML format.
Data that has been loaded or retrieved is shown in the Results pane (1), and is the data. Transformations (i.e. reports) and XPath queries operate on this data.
To generate a report, the loaded XoomXML must be transformed using the selected XSL transformation. To view the resulting report, it must be launched in a suitable application.
Once a report has been launched or saved, another report can be selected and its transformation applied without having to reload the data. All transformations work on the data that was loaded, which remains in memory, rather than on the transformed results. The Results pane is updated to reflect the results of the latest transformation.
